What is the setting of Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood?

The first setting for the novel is a wildlife refuge near the seashore. This is the place where Jimmy has brought the Crakers so that they can have an endless supply of greens to eat and he can be sustained on fish. The area includes an arboretum, which provides shade for Jimmy during the overwhelming heat of the midday sun.
