Who is Dr. Mira from Origin in Death and what is their importance?

Dr. Mira is described as a sharp dresser, with mink colored hair, which is worn swept back and rolled at the nape of the neck. Mira has soft blue eyes that are set in a smooth and pretty face; prefers herbal tea over coffee; and she has a personal relationship with the Icove family. After the murders, Dr. Mira's relationship with Icoves clouds her judgement to a degree, and Dallas is forced to ask her to leave the Academy at one point.
