One Art
What allusion does the speaker make to the art of writing in the poem, One Art?
.
.
The art of writing is suggested as a coping mechanism to help one deal with and manage loss. The speaker calls upon herself to confront head-on the loss of her loved one by admitting to it in writing, when she confesses that “it may look like (Write it!) a disaster” (19). Now it seems that the very act of writing the poem itself is part of the speaker’s practice to help her navigate the emotional loss she has endured.
