In the chapter, On Writing, King says some critics of his work claim that he is a hack. What is a hack and what evidence can you find to support the statement that King is a hack?

A hack is a writer who is hired to do dull, routine writing; a literary drudge. By writing every day, and by churning out two thousand words every day, there is a suggestion that King reserves little time for evaluating or improving his work.
