What metaphors are used in On Christian Doctrine by Saint, Bishop of Hippo Augustine?

Augustine does not employ metaphor in his book, On Christian Doctrine. He does, however, note that one's interpretation of the Biblical text can run astray when he misses a sign or finds an ambiguous sign; signs can be literal or metaphorical.
