Why was Olga never able to be confirmed in the Catholic Church?

Olga's parents did not want their children to have anything to do with religion. However, Olga started going to mass secretly with her grandmother. Then her grandmother arranged for her to take classes and be confirmed. When the nuns learned that Olga's parents did not want her confirmed, she was not allowed to do so.
