Samuel Honicott was the son of poor famers from Bear Grass, North Carolina. He took care of Bianca after a train wreck, and he later married her. Samuel didn't work, preferring to live off his wife's money. They, none-the-less, had a very happy marriage and one child, Lucy. Samuel died at the age of fifty-eight.
