Ned Marsden was Lucy and Will's oldest son. When Ned was about twleve-years-old, Will took him on a hunting trip, over Lucy's objection. Sadly, Ned was blinded in a hunting accident. Ned, however, adjusted and went on to become a teacher of the blind.
