How did Nora's sister, Lily, change after the disappearance of their father in the novel, Now That You Mention It?

After her father’s disappearance, Lily stopped talking to Nora and even grew nasty to her. In high school, Lily befriended the popular girls, whom Nora refers to as the “Cheeto Girls” and began doing drugs. After high school, Lily moved to Seattle, and by 18 she was “tattooed, pierced and pregnant” (45). In Seattle, Lily held a series of low income jobs: barista, tattoo artist, band manager. In the present, Lily is serving a two-year prison sentence, having committed identity theft, credit card fraud, and drug dealing. Lily is an “offstage” character throughout the book, as she is in prison, but Nora faithfully writes her letters, which Lily does not answer.
