What is the importance of the Hadley House in the novel, Noughts & Crosses?

Grand and luxurious, the Hadley House is important because it is an object of envy to Callum. It represents all that he will never be able to attain, simply because he is a nought. The house also symbolizes the Hadley family’s overall discontent.
