What happens at the library in Chapter Eight?

When Lillian, Carl, and the twins visit the library in Chapter Eight, a lot happens. Bessie fears everyone will stare at them and think they are weird. Bessie‘s anxiety grows when Lillian realizes no one has a library card. Ultimately, they steal the books necessary to complete their projects. Upon leaving, the twins realize no one paid attention to them and they appeared normal.
