Lillian’s relationship with her mother is a distant one. Lillian’s mother does not seem to support her daughter emotionally. She seems to only care about money, as seen when she takes Mr. Billings' money and lets Lillian take the blame for Madison’s wrongdoing. She shows no interest in her daughter or her life.
