Why is Will sad when he sees Aimee's dad put his arm around her?

Will feels a small, sharp pain in his throat when he sees Aimee's dad put his arm around her. He is not sure if it is because the girl looks like Clair or because Aimee's father is so attentive. Will is still sad over his father's death.
