How does Kiara get to the party at Demond's place?

Kiara starts out walking to the party at Demond's place. A woman stops and asks her if she wants a ride. The vehicle is already full of others girls dressed for a party. They make room for Kiara and take her to Demond's place. The driver introduces herself as Sam and tells Kiara not to take any "shit" (122) from Demond.
