In "In a Jar," what does David's mother tell him about Goog'ooks?

She tells him that the entire island their reservation is on is haunted by spirits, because the island, long ago, was their people's cemetery. Even though she claims to have heard the Goog'ooks tapping at the walls, she tells David he should not be afraid.
