Frick says that they need to return to the old ways, but he cannot explain what this means. David comments that Frick, although a medicine man, has been drinking too much and neglecting the prayers and ceremonies that are a part of this position. He is implying that this dereliction is related to Frick's inability to explain his reasoning for wanting to tear the headstone down.
