What effect does it have on you as a reader/audience and include a quote to support your response.
This is really asking for your opinion rather than mine. I recall the first time I read this many years ago. I was deeply affected by the intimate tone and personal narrative of the author. I still think of the scene of the young child Pipel being hung: it still haunts me.
