How does Stephenie Meyer use imagery in New Moon?

Imagery is used in a dramatic way when Bella dreams of her own reflection in a mirror.... the image of an old woman. This reflection is important because it makes Bella understand that unless Edward make her a vampire too..... she will one day be an old woman, while he will remain as he is.
