What is Freeside? How is life and business there different? Why is Case not interested in it?

Freeside is a space station that is almost entirely owned by Tessier-Ashpool S.A. Orbital law is softer on genetics and related practices such as cloning, allowing the Tessier-Ashpools to conduct their affairs in an extremely bizarre manner and affording them a high level of secrecy and solitude. Case has not been interested in Freeside because in cyberspace, distance is unimportant and travel is a physical aspect of life that does not concern him.
