How does Gibson describe technology, both new and old?

Gibson's descriptions of technology often give them an organic element, as if wires, circuits, and data constitute some kind of life form. Similarly, Gibson often describes organic things as if they are technological, or compares them to an element of technology. Examples include the television sky in the original chapter, and the biodegraded technological mulch that occupies the hallway of the Finn's lab.
