What realization does Rukmani find ironic as she mourns for Old Granny?

She realizes that while people may not pay any attention to someone while that person is alive, once that person is dead, people pay attention. In Old Granny's case, no one pays any attention to the old woman while she is alive. Once she is found dead, however, people come to properly prepare her body for the funeral and mourners come as well.
