What do Early and Jack see when they find an old logging camp?

When the boys find an old logging camp, they see a few buildings--actually shacks. There is a large fire pit that hasn't been used for a long time. Abandoned logs lay about as if they had fallen off a wagon. Inside a shack, they find a wooden table with a dish and cup on it, but they don't see any people.
