In the epilogue the family has moved on. How did they grieve? How did they survive?

Kate continues the epilogue in 2010. She tells us how different characters have reacted. Brian thinks he could see Anna in the sky at night. Sara feels Anna will come back to her. Kate, however, blames herself for Anna’s death. Kate manages to carry on knowing she has a part of Anna inside of her. The scar from receiving Anna's kidney will always remind her of Anna.
