How does Sam's dad greet him when he comes to see Sam?

Sam's dad tackles Sam, thumps him on his chest, and rubs snow in Sam's face. Then he lifts Sam from the snow by the pockets on his coat and holds him off the ground so that they are eye-to-eye. He smiles, and then he throws Sam down in the snow again and wrestles with him for a few minutes.
