The Central Theme of Murder on the Orient Express is that of the question of true justice. Is it possible (and right) for it to be served by someone other than those elected or hired to do the job (like police and judges). Poirot, the hero, seems to be inclined to support the administration of justice at the hands of the wronged party, even though he, on the surface, is an agent of the law.
