What is the main conflict in Murder in the Cathedral by T. S. Eliot?

The main conflict in Murder in the Cathedral is between Henry II and the Pope. Becket's role as the Archbishop of Canterbury sets him right between the two. Unfortunately, Becket realized too late that his position was granted because of his friendship with the King, and that the King expected Becket's allegiance be to him first...... Becket, however, chose God and his conscience.
