What is the theme in Michael Vey: The Prisoner of Cell 25 by Richard Paul Evans?

I think that friendship and loyalty both work into the theme here. Both Ostin and Michael find they only have each other as friends in a high school setting. Taylor is very popular and brings Michael and Ostin into her circle of friends without any problems. The friendship is important to all three of them for various reasons.
