Dean Borsh is Gurdjieff's first tutor. Gurdjieff had at first attended the regular school, but he shows too much promise for the standard classes. Gurdjieff studies his subjects very diligently, learning all he can from books, Dean Borsh, and the other teachers. However, the book learning only goes so far.
