Predict how the narrator's impoverished background and sense of restlessness might relate to Miss Lottie's marigolds later in the story.
Both Lizabeth and Miss Lottie live in an impoverished state. Lizabeth is bored.... she hates her surrounding, and she looks for things to pass her days. Miss Lottie lives in these same circumstances, but as an adult, she has channeled her boredom with her marigolds, a bit of beauty that she, herself, has brought to an otherwise ugly world.
