What representations of female rebellion are there in Madame Bovary?

Emma's character consistently represents female rebellion over the course of the novel. She marries Charles to attain a comfortable life and quickly moves onto other men when she decides that she wants more than comfort. Flouting convention becomes the norm, but unfortunately, the things, affairs, and events of her life never satisfy her.
