We get the sense that Macbeth really wanted his wife's advice in what to do next. There is a neediness to his tone as well as fear. It is as if he wants his wife to take on any unscrupulous plans to help Macbeth become king. The tone of the letter really represents the kind of relationship that they have: L. Macbeth wears the "pants" in the relationship!
