By murdering King Duncan, Macbeth has effectively murdered his own sleep.

Act 2 sc 2 Macbeth has ruined is conscience. Killing the king will make him a king but will also ruin his sense of mental peace and well being. Because of his guilt, Macbeth suffers from insomnia and nightmares.
