What's the meaning behind this quote? “Ralph wept for the end of innocence, the darkness of man’s heart, and the fall through the air of the true, wise friend called Piggy.” (Chapter 12 pg. 202)

In context, Ralph is weeping for the things that have been lost.... innocence, friends (both Simon and Piggy), and a sense of self.
