Pham uses illustrations rather than imagery to help to tell the story. The cartoon-like figures give life and expression to the story of the video-obsessed youngster. The illustrations are tasteful and done in pleasingly muted tones. Pham is a comic book artist who also illustrated the graphic novel, Sumo.
