According to Elinore, the summer of 1909 is the busiest and happiest summer she can remember. Elinore helped Mr. Stewart bail hay, mow, milk cows, collect fruit, and she has preserved thirty pints of jelly and jam. Elinore and Jerrine also took a day off in the mountains, where they had a wonderful time.
