What is Tactic?

Tactic is the slightly larger town in Guatemala where Claudia’s grandmother, Mamatoya, lives. In general, Tactic is the opposite of Mayuelas. It is “full of colors, songs, and culture” (27) and its climate is foggy and rainy. The town is also full of indigenous people, and Claudia admires their clothes and outfits. Claudia prefers Tactic to Mayuelas and hopes one day to be buried there.
