What tone does the author use in Part Three of the book? How does the tone used in Part Three compare to the tones in the previous parts?

The author uses dark tones to tell the story in Part Three. The tone is much darker than in the previous chapters of the book. Unlike in the other chapters, there are not lighthearted elements to keep the tone hopeful. Grief is the major theme of the novel, keeping the tone very dark and despairing.
