Describe the major themes in Chapter One.

The major themes in the first chapter of Kitchen are death and love. Death occurs in the beginning of the chapter, and love begins to grow throughout the rest of the novel. The author uses death as a way to push the two characters together. Destiny is another major theme in the chapter, as a result of Mikage's dream and the events it foreshadows.
