Why don't Mac or Larkin try to talk Marlowe out of working with King?

Even though both Larkin and Mac are wary of the King and understand that Peter is taking a risk by associating with him, neither tries to talk Marlowe out of pursuing a friendship with the American as both understand that having a friend like the King could do everyone in their unit a lot of good.
