What was the Malmedy Massacre?

When the Germans began their attack Peiper's Panther tanks came across Americans in Malmedy for lunch. They led the men into a field with their hands held high. The men were stripped of their valuables.Then the men were shot down. After everyone had fallen, the Germans went through the field and shot anyone who was alive. That was the Malmedy Massacre. In total 84 Americans were murdered in cold blood.
