In Chapter 9, why did Patton go to a Catholic chapel on December 23, 1944?

Patton entered a Catholic chapel on December 23, 1944. Though he was an Episcopalian, he needed a place to pray. He knew he needed help if the Third Army was going to be able to rescue the men at Bastogne. So he prayed that God would change the weather so he and his men could reach their objective.
