Who is Chief Inspector Burgess from Killers of the Dawn and what is their importance?

Chief Inspector Burgess is in charge of the police who are hunting for the Vampires. She believes that Darren and his crew are human killers. Burgess doesn't believe that the Vampires are the good guys and the Vampets are the bad guys, but she changes her mind when she sees her first Vampet.

In the end, Burgess fights off the Vampets and Vampaneze to help the Vampires. She even overtakes one of her own officers, who is a Vampaneze and has been posing as a police officer.
