Julius Caesar

Despite the successful assassination of Caesar, the conspiracy against him must be considered a failure. What factors do you consider cause the eventual defeat of those who oppose Caesar?

Ceasar wasn't aware of his surroundings. Not many people from the government like his ideas. But the people from the town did like him becuase he started the empire. Ceasar wasn't going to listen to other people. He was going to govern Rome himselg. And the people who assasinated him didn't like that. So they killed him and put another person in the throne.
After Brutus' funeral speech, he had the people on his side. Marc Antony got up and delivered his speech which completely swayed the people to his side. Marc Antony used Pathos and Ethos (Emotion and Ethics) to argue against Brutus' Logos (Logic) based arguments. Pulling on the heartstrings is always a quicker way to incite mob violence. Antony enlisted the aid of Caesar's nephew, who was easily controlled. Lepidus (a supporter of Caesar) rounded out the triumvirate. This allowed Antony to defeat the armies of the conspirators, without having to do everything himself, and it avoided making it look like he was setting himself up as emperor (which was the reason Caesar was killed). The defeat of the conspirators never would have happened if it hadn't been for Antony's clever machinations.
