What omen does Cassius see that makes him think the battle will be a failure?
In Act V, Scene I, Cassius specifically makes mention of the fact the eagles that traveled with their army from Sardis had been replaced by crows and ravens. Ravens and crows were well known to portend bad things. Cassius was prepared for defeat.
