Who greeted Slocum at Snug Bay? What happened?

Slocum arrived in Snug Bay where he weighed anchor. The following morning Slocum was set upon once again by savages. This time the savages arrived in two canoes and appeared to be well armed. Disappointingly, Slocum pulled up the sloop's anchor and set sail with the hopes of outrunning the newest band of savages.
