What was the most fascinating thing about the island in Slocum's eyes?

Slocum was most fascinated by being on the same island and in the same area that had been home to the legendary Robinson Crusoe. Slocum took time to visit the Bay as well as Crusoe's cave. The experience was a dream come true for the author.
