How did the people of Mauritius celebrate the arrival of Slocum and the Spray?

The people of Mauritius were happy that Slocum had chosen to make Mauritius a stop on his journey around the world. As a tribute to the Spray and to Slocum, the people designed and built a replica of the sloop. The replica, named the Ship Pantai, was housed in the local opera house.
