Who is the “hero” in Jitterbug Perfume and why? (need to use someone other than Alobar)

I'm sorry, Alobar is the hero. I searched for another option, but even the author, Tom Robbins, says that Alobar is the hero of his novel.

It is a saga, as well. A saga must have a hero, and the hero of this one is a janitor with a missing bottle.
