Diana Macpherson is the executive producer of London Nights, the television show Ben presents. Diana is a tough woman, who uses her power to gain access to men. She is hungry for success, and achieves everything she sets her mind to, including her male conquests. She takes an immediate liking to Ben, with his youth and good looks, and she hires him, in part, because of these aspects. She spends much of the novel trying to bed Ben, and when they get drunk one night, she finally succeeds. Ben, for his part, wishes the episode had never happened, as he finds women like Diana somewhat appalling. He prefers lower key women, and women who are not superficial. Diana eventually leaves the show, and Ben, behind.
