Why is Bertie apprehensive about going to Brinkley?

Bertie is apprehensive about going to Brinkley, especially going for the purpose of cheering Percy because he has just refused Percy's loan request and Bertie is worried that Percy will hold a grudge. Dahlia assures Bertie that Percy has found the funding he needed and that Bertie need not worry.
